The Partnership advises and guides investors and their professional advisers (foreign and local) on the regulatory regime for doing business in Nigeria. We advise on compliance procedures and practice; file, process and obtain requisite licence permits and authorizations, and offer immigration advice and processing services.

Members act for government and its agencies and represent other clients before regulatory and administrative bodies, and act as liaison between clients and various agencies of government at State and Federal levels.

Examples include:

* Acted as counsel for BPE and National Council on Privatisation in the following matters, Suit No. FHC/L/CS/229/97 Abdullahi vs. NAHCO & Ors (fallout of privatisation of NAHCO), Suit FHC/KD/CS/66/2001 Magi Johnson & Ors vs. Attorney General of Federation & Ors (fallout of privatisation of Durbar Hotel Plc).

• Acted as Counsel to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the various Courts. We represented SEC in the case of SEC vs. Owena Bank which has been successfully concluded. We alsoe represented SEC in the cases of Dubic General Equipment &Technology Plc vs. SEC &Ors Suit No FHC/L/CS/1289/97, D . U. Chemicals Industrial Ltd. vs. SEC Suit No. FHC/L/CS /1288 /97, Udensi Joy Dike & Ors vs. SEC & Ors Suit No. FHC/L/CS/ 160/99. We are also counsel in SEC vs. Golden Guinea Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/110/2002. A.B. Kasunmu vs. SEC Suit No. FHC/L/CS/70/2001 which is presently on appeal; Afe Babalola vs. SEC Suit No.FHC/L/ABJ/2003 which has been settled. Representing SEC at the Investment and Securities Tribunal in several cases arising from SEC decisions on the Bonkolans Cadbury share scam.

• Acted as counsel to Savannah Bank Plc before the Court Of Appeal and the Supreme Court in Appeal Nos: CA/A/23/2002 & SC/273/2003 Between –NDIC & Ors vs. Savannah Bank Plc.

Several members of the Partnership commenced their legal careers in the public sector and some have held political and/or public office at State and Federal levels. Their personal knowledge of the workings of government and the various regulatory agencies, the combined pool of in-house experience garnered over the years from a history of similar transactions, coupled with the considerable goodwill and reputation nurtured and sustained over the years by these members enable the Consortium to provide clients with an expeditious and cost effective service in this area of practice where the existence of goodwill at various levels of the system is an essential attribute.

We equally assist Foreign Diplomatic Missions, Trade Groups, International Organisations and NGOs in their operations.

Regulatory agencies we relate to include the Corporate Affairs Commission, Securities & Exchange Commission, the Stock Exchanges, Utilities Commission, the Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal and State Environmental Protection Agencies, Department of Petroleum Resources, National Investment Promotion Commission, Land Registries at the Federal and State Government levels, Commissioners for Stamp Duties and Tax authorities. Our services here have over the years included:

* Advising and synthesizing public submissions and re drafting the bill for the enactment of the Pension Reform Act 2004 - the National Pension Commission – by acting as consultant to the Senate committee on Establishment.

* Advising and drafting a proposed model State Pension law for the NPC, to be used in Legislative Advocacy by the NPC to ensure that State Pension laws accord with the Federal Pension regulatory framework.

* Advising and guiding various businesses wishing to establish and do business as Pension Fund Administrators under the new Pension Law.

* Advising on, drafting and producing a draft National budget law, intended to introduce a new and comprehensive National budget framework for Nigeria.
