STEVE UGOCHUKWU AHANEKU

Steve Ugo Ahaneku a Barrister and Solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was called to the Bar in 1981.Since then he has acquired varied and extensive experience in both the public and organized private sectors, both as a Company Secretary/Legal Adviser and in the practice of law, representing many natural resources/Extractive industries and corporations in Nigeria and abroad. He has considerable experience in negotiating International finance and in drafting accompanying documentation. Between 1983 and 1992 he was retained solicitor by MW1 Corporation of Florida USA. In that capacity he advised, negotiated and vetted the US Exim Bank Public Sector Financing Agreement to some states in Nigeria totaling over USD 180 Million.

Mr. Ahaneku served as the Chief of Staff to the immediate past Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, acquiring immense experience in legislative procedure, drafting, and advocacy with the attendant networks in the Nigerian National Assembly. As retained solicitor to Chrome Oil Services Limited he participated in the negotiations and agreement that culminated in the acquisition of ERHC – Environmental Remediation Holding Corporation, a US public quoted company with rights option in the Joint Development Zone (JDZ) between Nigeria and Sao Tome
